The crowd nearly doubled when Los Angeles-based Abe Vigoda took the stage at the Levi’s/Fader Fort concert, but any fans of the self-described “tropical punk band” know that the band puts out the kind of stage energy that draws attention from even the casual observer. Their energy was a welcome late-afternoon relief and a good pick me up for a crowd loaded with free Southern Comfort and Budweiser. While the band’s music did not leave a memorable impression, listening now to studio performances it’s clear why Abe Vigoda has built such a strong following. There’s a lot more depth to the music apparent in the studio than was accessible to a first-impression look at their live performance. Im definitely intrigued.

i saw them open for the Cave Singers, not very original, the crowd was not into it either, frankly i think they suck
