After an enormous set up which filled the entire stage with equipment Dan Auerbach and Hacienda, currently touring as his backing band, took the stage to an eager and adoring crowd. Opening up with a quiet vocal duet with Dante Schwebel, Auerbach alternated between standing front center at the mic and wandering away to pour out some wicked, blues soaked guitar solos. Had the guitar been missing I might have mistaken him for a drunk stumbling down the street instead of the talented musician he his. Synocpated drums, quick bass lines and a driving guitar—these guys play good old fashion rock’n roll with modern and bluesy sensibility. It’s a tribute to the skill and energy of Auerbach and Hacienda that I stayed engaged and rocking through the entire set (having been up for something like 48 something hours at this point) and I strongly recommend that you check them out if you have the chance.

that inescapable feeling you are referring to, is that like when you hear something and you could have sworn you heard it before because of the nostalgic catchy quality? or is is like when you’ve heard a band exactly like said band?
great post by the way!

no prob. The whole album is excellent, combining some of the harder sonics of Los Angeles with the meat of his debut and obviously difficult to summarize in only 50 words…
I’d say it’s on par with the debut, but better than Los Angeles.

WHO WROTE THIS...PUKE ! “WHO WROTE THIS...PUKE ! “Picture yourself coasting your bike past space funk palm trees, homeless harpists, vintage video arcades, electronic drum circles, and 60s psychedelic singers who’re waiting for the bus. Cosmogramma is kinda like that if someone suddenly tripped you just as you’re starting to enjoy the ride. But in a good way.””
