South-by was just one happy coincidence after another. Sure, we had schedules and plans, but by far, the best times were had when we threw the plans by the wayside and just played by ear. In a perfect example of just such an instance, a couple of us were making our way to a barbeque way, way east of Congress. And along the way, we got a text from some dear friends saying that they were getting rocked at the Longbranch. So we stopped in.
And got ourselves rocked completely.
Gentleman Jesse and His Men play loud, raucously dirty punk rock. And they were perfect for the Longbranch. Standing on the floor face-to-face with the audience, Jesse shouted into his mic, playing with amped-up glee while His Men played and danced all about the stage area. Though the Inn was darkened, two open doors allowed some brilliant natural light into the venue.
This was a real treat in the middle of a long walk, a chance to dance around with friends while catchy, up-tempo rock filled the Inn.

love that melophobe has more “couples” reviewers, and more “Ian/Ion/Ian/Iain” than the average site…
