[melophobe photographer Ian McNeil hit into some fantastic photos from the mewithoutYou show, and we wanted to get them to you even without a full review. Hope you enjoy! --eds.]
Some bands appear to change as rapidly as leaves in fall, but mewithoutYou has seamlessly changed into each new season with every album release. Even though the band has transformed, they still manage to write beautiful music, fill auditoriums, and lead followers that shamelessly scream every word to all of their songs. It’s quite evident that the music truly is a labor of love since the space between each lyric is often filled with smiles, and it’s always nice to see a band enjoying themselves. There is good reason for mewithoutYou’s followers to be so devout and their show at the Hawthorne Theater proved just that when the final song was greeted with an onslaught of listeners carelessly rushing the stage to join the band with their voices and dancing.

I’ve read the book ‘Dream Boogie’ the life and time of Sam Cooke’ If the movie is as good as the book, Sam Cooke will get the respect that he has been deserving of for many years.
