Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson—the songster whose names is perhaps only eclipsed by that of John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt—has plenty to crow about. With a Springsteen voice and a similar penchant for the big big sound, Miles etc stirred up a whole hornets’ nest of skill and song out back at Yard Dog. He has a scratchy and rough whiskey voice that belts out up-beat-sounding songs. However, the up-tempo veneer just masks songs that are actually desperately dark, yearning for answers and some kind of salvation.
So, just like the rest of us, really. But with a way-better voice and a refreshing watchable quality.
Miles and his crew put up a fantastic show sandwiched in the alley, and as they were breaking down their equipment, a fairly mesmerizing turntabléd pair—DJ A-Cup—filled the air with danceable tunes as a backdrop to our refilling our beers.

love that melophobe has more “couples” reviewers, and more “Ian/Ion/Ian/Iain” than the average site…
