Like, whoooooa. Saturday was poppin’ all over the place, and ears got to hear just about every genre on the planet. Hip hop, folk rock, traditional country, dance pop – everywhere you went, something new and exciting was going down. Heavy wobble bass and terrific sampling by Bassnectar inspired the crowd to summon a rainstorm of glowsticks when they all thrust their neon dance enhancers into the sky midway through his show. Electronic music was prominent throughout the weekend, and Bassnectar’s set, as well as The Glitch Mob’s were outstanding.

Aside from music, the best comedic act of the festival, The Trailer Park Boys also made an appearance. The speakers were barely working for them, though, and the tent was so crowded you could barely see the trio onstage. I managed to stick it out long enough to hear Bubbles tell the crowd he was so high he didn’t know what he was talking about, but ended up leaving to catch a sweet Wolf Parade set, instead.

Rumors also started to circulate that people were shooting water guns of liquid acid at random people, and I definitely saw a few people freak out when they got sprayed by those potentially hallucinogenic spritzers. As far as I could tell, water was the only thing the crowds were getting soaked with, but it was still pretty entertaining to watch fear creep into people’s eyes when a water gun got close.

I give Saturday a gold star for being the most stellar day of the weekend – well done, lineup planners.
