One album removed from Attack and Release, the boundary-pushing Black Keys LP featuring Danger Mouse on production, Auerbach retreats to a fuzzed-out blues paying homage to his musical roots and the Keys earlier oeuvre. After stretching himself musically, Keep it Hid is a therapeutic soak in the tub.

Great post! Really digging the new record a lot. The Rainwater LP has some gorgeous moments - definitely recommend checking it out. There are 3 of the new songs up on the myspace page: myspace.com/citizencope

love that melophobe has more “couples” reviewers, and more “Ian/Ion/Ian/Iain” than the average site…

Hey Merseilles did a live web show at sonicbirds office gig on Friday that was pretty spectacular. Can anyone find a copy of that?

I’ve been listening to this CD for months now… probably one of the best of the year.
This is probably one of my favorites of the year as well, so I don’t agree with the “Borrow It” label. However, the review is spot on.
Patricia,
I’m glad you like it. I’m curious what specifically you think it is about the record that makes it stand out. Convince me it’s worth buying, if you would.
