Grimm’s Parplar finds playful space amidst somber strokes. Sometimes shimmering and arctic, sometimes languid and salty, her fingers pick out songs of an America she has known but that we have probably forgotten. She’s a gypsy spider prickling across a web of E-strings, draining life from the instruments around her.
