RJD2 - “Tin Foil Hat EP” - Borrow It

text: Chris Barth

A welcome return to roots, as college’s favorite turntablist launches his own label and abandons his attempts to become a dreaded songwriter. No singing here – RJD2 makes his presence felt subtly, as it should be. Tin Foil Hat isn’t revolutionary; it’s the RJD2 you know and love, with rounder edges.

I completely agree that this album is classic RJD2 and it is amazing, but aren’t they all unreleased tracks from his earlier albums? I think Rj is still trying to be a dreaded songwriter and singer.

I’ve read the book ‘Dream Boogie’ the life and time of Sam Cooke’ If the movie is as good as the book, Sam Cooke will get the respect that he has been deserving of for many years.
