Tortoise - “Beacons of Ancestorship” - Bin It

text: Carrie Johnston

Beacons of Ancestorship dishes out the unexpected; like the kid in high school whose atrocious sense of fashion confounded others in light of his striking wit and intellect. If my brain were made of chips and magnets rather than nerve cells and soft tissue, I might like this album.

Reminds us of: Mogwai | Aphex Twin | Boards of Canada

Tortoise: (Official / MySpace)

Previous (The Builders and The Butchers - "Salvation is a Deep Dark Well" - Buy It) Next (Sonic Youth - "The Eternal" - Buy It)

Beacons of Ancestorship to your liking? You'll sweat:

I just can’t stand the singer’s voice on this album, not like earlier material

“Mindkilla” is awesome. I’ve got this music video last week and really impressed through watching every performance particularly “Glass Jar”. Thanks dude. :)
