500 Days of Summer gets help from She & Him

text: matt carr

The Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt flick 500 Days of Summer has a pretty solid soundtrack out July 7th. I can’t say whether the movie will be any good, but it’s nice to see the Doves and Black Lips get some big screen love. Check out the Deschanel and M. Ward cover of the oft-used Smiths song “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want” below.

Track list:
01 Mychael Danna And Rob Simonsen - “A Story Of Boy Meets Girl”
02 Regina Spektor - “Us”
03 The Smiths - “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out”
04 Black Lips - “Bad Kids”
05 The Smiths - “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want”
06 Doves - “There Goes The Fear”
07 Hall & Oates - “You Make My Dreams”
08 The Temper Trap - “Sweet Disposition”
09 Carla Bruni - “Quelqu’un M’a Dit”
10 Feist - “Mushaboom”
11 Regina Spektor - “Hero”

I absolutley love this album, and the smiths! haha, I’m sure that the movie will be amazing by just glancing at the soundtrack. Plus I love Zooey Deschanel!

Kelli Shaefer’s songs get stuck in my head non-stop. Every other day I find myself waking up with one in there. And that’s a good thing, she’s a talent!

nice pics Chris. Don’t you love it when the artist brings some cool light. It’s a bunch of low hanging fruit after that.

Check out a sick interview back\slash Magazine did with LMFAO about how they blew up in a down economy, the struggles of entrepreneurship, and getting high.
