“Ambling Alp,” the first single off of Yeasayer’s upcoming record, Odd Blood is out and if this is our window into what the album will sound like, then we have a lot to look forward to. The beginning sounds like wet feet walking, becoming an echo chamber before revealing the voice. Nothing unfamiliar, just pure Yeasayer. The words tell you to stick up for yourself and never mind what anybody else done. Maybe you should listen to Yeasayer, they are on a hot streak. You can download it here or at amblingalp.com (I suggest the latter since they are a great band and all you have to give up is an email address).

I’d like to clarify that for this show they cut off the back half of Neumo’s floor with a curtain and had the upstairs bar closed. It made Neumo’s obviously seem much smaller than it is. Unfortunately, now having seen Neumo’s fully open at another show I can say that this show was very empty. Still White Denim and Brazos rocked.
