Last July Arctic Monkeys staged a webcast to try and ramp up attention for Humbug. The internet savvy section of their fan base probably saw it, but what about the people who had jobs or dates or deviant plans when that webcast was going down? Well all those people can finally have a gander at it since the band has released it to the video library of Youtube. And this isn’t that grainy, slow buffering feed that many are reminded of what when they think “webcast,” this is a slick, professionally produced affair. So, if you weren’t there that fateful day in July, step into the world of Humbug and make sure you say what’s up to their cover of Nick Cave’s “Red Right Hand.” That song is dynamite.

Ugh. Paste’s profile of Free Energy made me kind of hate them. So does your review. It’s this unctuous defense of good-time rock-and-roll ("we’re just here to party, and we’re awesome!") that seems more self-serving than fun-loving.

no prob. The whole album is excellent, combining some of the harder sonics of Los Angeles with the meat of his debut and obviously difficult to summarize in only 50 words… 
I’d say it’s on par with the debut, but better than Los Angeles.
