Gorillavsbear gave us a gift today in the form of a new Big Boi track called “Shine Blockas”. I know the name might turn off some people who think that its just going to be another excursion into the world of fast cars and blingonomics, but don’t judge a book by its cover. The beat is like a cape that commands you to move one foot after the one in an impressively rhythmic pattern and the words will match that glide step for step. That’s all you can ask of a good time. Check it out and see if it doesn’t follow you to your next house party.

i don’t know enough about “electronic” music to offer an informed critique of this list. but i do love “rooty,” “discovery” and “untrue.” dj shadow would not be happy to be labeled “trip-hop” though!
