If we are to believe Ramona Falls (Brent Knopf of Menomena), the 1800s were a time of shifty eyed people and rampaging bird men. Said bird man would come into your bar while you were trying to kick back and recover from your latest cholera scare, and shoot a bird at you. That’s right, a bird that would fly straight at your head, removing your mask and revealing that you were, in fact, an animal underneath it. I think the real animal is the bird man. You’ve been trying to keep your origins as an ox quiet ever since your school marm did her first roll call. You’ve been in hiding and now Ramona Falls even has the cartoony footage to expose you further. What a world.

Great post! Really digging the new record a lot. The Rainwater LP has some gorgeous moments - definitely recommend checking it out. There are 3 of the new songs up on the myspace page: myspace.com/citizencope

love that melophobe has more “couples” reviewers, and more “Ian/Ion/Ian/Iain” than the average site…
