I caught the Oscar nominated live action short films the other day and left wanting to know more about Madeleine Peyroux. Her beautiful cover of Bob Dylan’s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome” features prominently in Manon on the Asphalt, a 15-minute French short film about the death of a young woman.
Peyroux’s album Careless Love features more great cover music and had us saying, “Hey, I love this song” a few times last night as we were baking New York Times chocolate cupcakes. If you like what you hear, I encourage you to check out the album.

Wonderful!
magnifique!
Very nice...this song works well in a jazz arrangement and the vocals are sweet.
I wonder if Bob has heard it ?
SUPERB !!
great cover! may be this one is better than Nina Simone’s jazz versions of Dylan ballads…
This one puts a smile on my face every time. The short was wonderful as well.
