Concept for Kanye and Lady Gaga’s Fame Kills Tour

text: Colin McLaughlin

During an interview with MTV News, Lady Gaga explained the concept behind her new joint tour with Kanye West. And she said:

“The storyline is that Kanye [West] is on one end of the stage and I’m on the other, and the whole show, we are trying to get to where each other is,” [Lady Gaga] said. “I want something that he has, which is the fame, and he wants something that I have, which is home, and my humble beginnings. So we battle each other throughout the entire performance to steal each other’s spaces. So I’m essentially on a quest to kill Kanye West to steal his fame.”

Does anybody else think this is a cool concept for a concert? I can’t stand Lady Gaga, but I still think that the idea of them trying to realize their desires through stage theft has all the makings of a really interesting performance. Anybody agree or have I been sucked in because I love the concepts behind self actualization and psychology?

The concept of the show sounds interesting, but I wonder how it will really come off to the fans. I don’t know how long the show is planned for, but even an hour seems like too much for a concept like that.

Yeah, we’ll see. It might be one of those things where the artist says that is their intention, but if you were at the show, it would just look like a big production.  Some of the intention might get lost in the wash.

Ha, I blogged ‘Mambo Santa Claus’ today too. I thought I was the only one who knew that song. It’s a classic.
