Drake, Lil’ Wayne, Kanye and Eminem Slay Track For Lebron

text: Colin McLaughlin

Forever, officially Drake’s song, but obviously something more like an MC dogpile, is burning up the Internet, wherever they like hip-hop.  “Who’s got the best verse?” they say. “Why wasn’t Eminem doing stuff like this before?” they say.  All you need to know, is that this is a boasting track, this year’s Swagger Like Us and like that song, its worth a listen.  You can find it in the link below or buy it on Itunes tomorrow as part of the More Than A Game soundtrack (which is a Lebron James documentary).

P.S. the track was produced by someone named Boi-1da. And imagining someone writing that name down on a piece of paper and getting hyped on it, totally makes me laugh.

Like you said - this is worth a listen. But, for me at least, that’s it.
On a related note, I’ve listened to Drake’s acclaimed So Far Gone mixtape a couple of times, and I’m not understanding the hype. He sounds like an average MC and an average singer. With famous friends.

I think Drake is an above average rapper and if you need proof I can post lyrics. I think what people are responding to is the mood of the records and maybe some people just like his voice. That can be enough in some situations.

I think you may be right - the mood of his mixtape may be appealing to folks. Too subdued for me, though. I’ll check out his debut album when it comes out, but his other work won’t be finding its way onto my mp3 player anytime soon.

Drake may be an above average rapper, but he’s a real piss-poor actor. Oh, yes. I’ve watched Degrassi High.

Ha! He still has acting in his sights, it seems: “I feel like I’ve had the training, and I’m surrounded by enough funny people that I could probably pull it off.” (referring to his dream of acting in a Judd Apatow comedy.)

“Mindkilla” is awesome. I’ve got this music video last week and really impressed through watching every performance particularly “Glass Jar”. Thanks dude. :)
