Fela Kuti: “Zombie”

text: Colin McLaughlin

I don’t know what it looks like where you’re at, but where I’m sitting, it’s cold, rainy and gray. I’m not going to let that bring me down though. And lucky for me, I know the best medicine for such a situation...funk music. I’m going with this song by Fela Kuti called “Zombie” I found over at Spinner. It has all the rhythm, groove, and joy that you usually find in this master’s work, and is throwing a mighty boot to what the day is trying to offer me. Best part about it...no matter what the weather is like where you are, this track will brighten up everything it touches. Check it out, dance and be happy.

Courtney Love is a neurotic, drug addled, fame whore. She should focus on seeking professional help. Courtney - substantiate your allegations in court, or shut up.

Ryan Adams is a talented songwriter, and has an alert and inquisitive mind. He is also a gentleman.

now that I have a baby at home, Vampire Weekend is surprisingly more listenable when dancing with my daughter. Well, as long as I earmuff that whole “do you wanna f*ck” bit…
