First single from the new Dirty Projectors

text: Matt Carr

Is there such a thing as Indie R&B? There is if you’ve listened to the Dirty Projectors single “Stillness Is The Move” off the forthcoming Bitte Orca LP, due out 6/9. Domino Records released the single for free earlier this month. It’s a very polarizing track: you’ll either love it or hate it. Take a listen for yourself. The Projectors will be on tour this May and June opening for Tv On The Radio. Tour dates here.

love the background beats, but the vocals rub me the wrong way…

“Indie R&B;” about hits this on the head. I think this song is pretty incredible - the background rif is so aggressive, but the vocals are a perfect match.

“Mindkilla” is awesome. I’ve got this music video last week and really impressed through watching every performance particularly “Glass Jar”. Thanks dude. :)
