I know this is fast, since the album just dropped today and we only got a first listen last week, but I’m just going to put this out there...Local Natives’ Gorilla Manor is the best album released this year, so far. Emphasis on so far. I’m not going to be like every blog last year and award the full kit and kaboodle to an album that came out in the first couple months of the year (Animal Collective). Local Natives have to pass the next test though, as in, can they deliver live? Anybody out there seen them? Anybody want to? Tour dates are below if you do. I’ve already got my ticket punched to see them at Sasquatch! this year, but from the looks of this list, the country is going to have plenty of opportunities to check the technique.

Saw Local Natives at The Masquerade in Atlanta this past Saturday and gotta say its one of the best shows I’ve seen in a while. Their sound held up very well live and I think the band was shocked on how many peopple showed up and were singing along to most of their tunes! I highly recommend seeing them live!
