Prepare yourself. Super producer/genius Jon Brion is probably going to work with Of Montreal on their Skeletal Lamping follow-up. This came to the music world’s attention via the band’s twitter page where the following message was posted:
Just had a rad meeting with sir jon brion.looks like were gonna work together on the new album! Dreams do come true:•)
I feel like someone just dunked my head in cold water and if this goes down, I’m going to lose it. I love Jon Brion and Of Montreal’s last couple of records, so this is big. Is anyone really surprised though? I mean it makes total sense why these two would come together. Both Jon Brion and Kevin Barnes love the type of stray/compositional instrumentation that blooms in your ears and creative attracts creative. And just in case, someone out there doesn’t know Jon Brion’s work, and why they should be excited about this, here’s a list (from wikipedia) of some of the albums/songs he’s had a hand in:

I’d like to clarify that for this show they cut off the back half of Neumo’s floor with a curtain and had the upstairs bar closed. It made Neumo’s obviously seem much smaller than it is. Unfortunately, now having seen Neumo’s fully open at another show I can say that this show was very empty. Still White Denim and Brazos rocked.

I agree, it’s very good. Way to deflate their balloon.

Wow… really sad there are no Chicago dates for this. Can’t wait to hear how the PHJB benefit compilation sounds. So many amazing musicians and for a really great cause as well.
