Looks like Jon Brion might have a hand in Of Montreal’s next album

Prepare yourself. Super producer/genius Jon Brion is probably going to work with Of Montreal on their Skeletal Lamping follow-up. This came to the music world’s attention via the band’s twitter page where the following message was posted:

Just had a rad meeting with sir jon brion.looks like were gonna work together on the new album! Dreams do come true:•)

I feel like someone just dunked my head in cold water and if this goes down, I’m going to lose it. I love Jon Brion and Of Montreal’s last couple of records, so this is big. Is anyone really surprised though? I mean it makes total sense why these two would come together. Both Jon Brion and Kevin Barnes love the type of stray/compositional instrumentation that blooms in your ears and creative attracts creative. And just in case, someone out there doesn’t know Jon Brion’s work, and why they should be excited about this, here’s a list (from wikipedia) of some of the albums/songs he’s had a hand in:

“Mindkilla” is awesome. I’ve got this music video last week and really impressed through watching every performance particularly “Glass Jar”. Thanks dude. :)
