Michael Runion to release EP

text: matt carr

I’ve been a fan of Michael Runion since I saw him open for Jenny Lewis and Benji Hughes last fall. It only takes a song or two to get hooked: His offbeat lyrical delivery and cadence, a quietly strummed guitar, and stories of impossible love. On Runion’s limited tour EP—produced by members of Phantom Planet and Rilo Kiley—he changes direction a bit with the rollicking and heavy guitars of “Maxine.” It’s a bit louder than “Daylight,” the last track on the album performed above. You can stream the rest of the songs on the EP at Runion’s Myspace.

“Mindkilla” is awesome. I’ve got this music video last week and really impressed through watching every performance particularly “Glass Jar”. Thanks dude. :)
