My Morning Jacket’s “Circuital” & VH1 Storytellers Sneak Peak

text: Danielle Fowler

Though it’s not due until this summer, there’s a sneak peak out of My Morning Jacket’s performance on VH1 Storytellers. Below you’ll get to see Jim James describe the reasoning behind “Golden,” which includes their tour bus Rosie, and then their performance of the 2003 track. Keep your DVR ready and your calendars marked for its debut on June 3.

Also not due until this summer, May 31 to be exact, is their latest album Circuital, but to satiate your hunger for new tunes they’ve put out the title track. Starting off easy with plinking guitars and distant vocals, “Circuital” slowly adds more soothing elements to become a mountain of sound. Yet be prepared to wait about three minutes for the sweet parts of this seven-minute, monumental jam. Hopefully it’ll grab at you in a tender, powerful way that’ll convince you to see them at one of the shows listed on their tour below.

“Mindkilla” is awesome. I’ve got this music video last week and really impressed through watching every performance particularly “Glass Jar”. Thanks dude. :)
