Did anybody else want to know what album Phish covered last night when they got online this morning? Admit it, hipsters who went to college. You’ve spent some time with Phish and wanted to know too. Plus when a band has covered Talking Heads’ Remain in Light, Velvet Underground’s Loaded and The Beatles’ White Album, you have to admit, at the very least, that they have good taste. Last night’s selection? The Rolling Stones’ ‘72 barn-burner, Exile On Main Street; another unarguable classic. And as an added treat for the fans, Sharon Jones(!) and a bunch of names I don’t recognize were along for the ride, helping out. It’s a strong choice and not surprising since “Loving Cup” has been a mainstay in their setlists for over a decade now. And somewhere in the ‘find-download-press play’ process, I got a feeling other people would like to hear it, as well. Links, taper info and setlist are below.

It was a great show. The energy was intense. I was lucky enough to be right up front.

Love these photos and review. So, these DJ sets are at 7:30? I don’t really get it. And are these gonna continue once the Whitney moves? And most importantly, where can I attend an “hour-long clinic on shaking ass?”

Agree. Think they nailed it and the inclusion of Sharon Jones was inspired. “let it loose” is fantastic, as well
