Spike Jonze (and friends) made you a mixtape

text: Colin McLaughlin

Spike Jonze has a present for you. It’s a mixtape called We Love You So (which is also the name of his sweet blog). I haven’t listened to it yet, so I can’t tell you where it falls on the quirk-o-meter, but I do know that it includes the stripped down version of Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” that was playing in the Where The Wild Things Are trailer. I know I’ve been yearning for that for months now. A few details and the link are below.

We are pleased to present our 23rd installment of Sound Advice featuring We Love You So.  We Love You So is Spike Jonze, Dallas Clayton, Graham Kolbeins, Molly Young, and Matt Rubin.

no prob. The whole album is excellent, combining some of the harder sonics of Los Angeles with the meat of his debut and obviously difficult to summarize in only 50 words… smile I’d say it’s on par with the debut, but better than Los Angeles.

By the way, I really liked the mp3 posted. Thanks.

WHO WROTE THIS...PUKE ! “WHO WROTE THIS...PUKE !  “Picture yourself coasting your bike past space funk palm trees, homeless harpists, vintage video arcades, electronic drum circles, and 60s psychedelic singers who’re waiting for the bus. Cosmogramma is kinda like that if someone suddenly tripped you just as you’re starting to enjoy the ride. But in a good way.””
