After debuting as movie soundtrack moguls on Paul Giamatti’s Win Win,The National have taken the next step in dominating the sounds of entertainment by providing a song for Portal 2, which is a video game that challenges the mind by defying spatial physics. “Exile Vilify” is a heavy track for a video game that’s described as ”hilariously mind-bending,” but taken out of context it’s a gorgeous symphony of piano and strings.
Next in the works for The National: a Grateful Dead tribute album with potential appearances by Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes. I’ll let you know if any other details pop up!
