Following the musical life of Thom Yorke recently means you’ve heard the new songs and that he would tour. Well, he is going to tour and he’s coming to Los Angeles for two nights (Oct. 4-5) with his new band! They’ll be playing a mix of new stuff and old stuff from the already out there Eraser disc. Want to know who’ll be in his band? Good, because this post from Thom laid it all out pretty well:
hi
in the past couple of weeks i’ve been getting a band together for fun to play the eraser stuff live and the new songs etc.. to see if it could work!
here’s a photo.. its me, joey waronker, mauro refosco, flea and nigel godrich.
at the beginning of october the 4th and 5th we are going to do a couple of shows at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
we don’t really have a name and the set will not be very long cuz ..well …we haven’t got that much material yet!
but come and check it out if you are in the area. we’ve also got locals Lucky Dragons playing.
all the best
Everyone send out good energy and hope it’s a big success; then maybe Thom will feel like making a run through the States.

I’m leaving AC out of this. Ok wait, I can’t. Beach Boys and AC can never be used in the same sentence ever again. If I were mayor, that would be the rule
Loving that The Rural Alberta Advantage found it’s way up here. I discovered that record WAY late in the year but it’s taken only days of listening to agree with it’s spot in the top 10.

also would a band ever write a letter like this to a venue? seemed like a joke to me from the get go.

If you had only read the first three paragraphs, how would you have known it was from the Rural Alberta Advantage?

While fair criticisms of a bigger band in a smaller venue, writing a review posing as a band saying they had a bad experience is so, so out of line.
Throwing a “jay kay!” at the end doesn’t really count. What if I read only the first three paragraphs on my rss reader or phone?
Pretty bogus. Save it for McSweeney’s.
