Trentemøller Remixes “Midnight City” for M83 EP

text: Danielle Fowler

I’m still pretty in love with the new M83, so news of remixes makes me wary. It doesn’t necessarily help that the reinterpretations are coming out September 27 – potentially a month before Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming even hits shelves – but so far one of the tracks has won me over. Stretching the song to almost 7.5 minutes, Trentemøller tones down the catchy electronic element of “Midnight City” in favor for a more elegant approach with reverberating guitar and emphasis on vocals. This is one of four remixes coming out, the others by Man Without Country, Team Ghost and Big Black Delta. Hear Trentemøller’s version below.

And here is the really effing terrible remix done by Big Black Delta. You can download it if you disagree with the cringing grimaces most people have given the extra bass and grating, high-speed saxophone.

“Mindkilla” is awesome. I’ve got this music video last week and really impressed through watching every performance particularly “Glass Jar”. Thanks dude. :)
