Vampire Weekend are coming back! After almost reaching a burn out level on their first album, I know I’m ready for new material and you and I shall have it come Jan. 12th of next year. The album will be called Contra, and hopefully they will tell us why (sooner or later). The track list is below and you will know more when I do. Your options now are a) you can rummage around their site here or b) you can listen to and/or re-visit Peter Gabriel and Hot Chip covering “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa,” while we all try to look at the song titles and imagine what they’ll sound like.

I’ve read the book ‘Dream Boogie’ the life and time of Sam Cooke’ If the movie is as good as the book, Sam Cooke will get the respect that he has been deserving of for many years.

I’m actually pretty excited about this. Although I grew pretty sick of their first release after hearing it on repeat while waiting at a Daniel Johnston concert in Boston. Too much of a good thing…
I understand that feeling, when I first started listening to it, loved it and started playing it a lot without it getting old, I knew that I had to put it away quickly, so that when I heard the songs I would still like them. I almost went over the edge, but ended up pulling myself back. Still like first record.
