Jenny Lewis, the lead singer and contributing songwriter for Rilo Kiley, has finally put out a video for her great second solo LP, Acid Tongue. I saw Lewis perform this past fall and she and her band rocked my socks off with their rollicking 70s-tinged jams. That’s why I’m confused why she chose to make a video for the mellow and slow “Black Sand” when she has a pocketful of video-worthy songs like “Jack Killed Mom,” “Acid Tongue,” and “Bad Man’s World.” Make sure to check out the album if you haven’t yet via the iTunes link.

Was a little skeptical at first, but I have to say, this is pretty awesome. I agree, she should release it.

I heard an earlier version of this song, I think it was off of one of the LSTN compilations. I liked the older version better - a bit darker, not so cleaned up, and quite a bit rockier. Check it out and it might change your perception of them for the better.
