Like a lot of British bands, Arctic Monkeys release singles (maybe because people actually buy records over there). Also like a lot of British bands, they don’t skimp on the b-sides. Their new single/EP for “Cornerstone” plays to this bit of Brit logic and includes three b-sides from Humbug entitled “Catapult” (which was written with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age), “Sketchead,” and “Fright Lined Dining Room.” Check them out here and please join me on the side of the table that says Humbug is a good cd and those mixed reviews about it are what the old people called phooey.

I’d like to clarify that for this show they cut off the back half of Neumo’s floor with a curtain and had the upstairs bar closed. It made Neumo’s obviously seem much smaller than it is. Unfortunately, now having seen Neumo’s fully open at another show I can say that this show was very empty. Still White Denim and Brazos rocked.
